Happy Birthday!
Today my baby turned 1! I think that a Babys first Bday is a big celebration and more so for the mom. It feels as though Ive made it through a very demanding year. Like there is a glimmer of Independence shinning in the distance. Not that the first year isn't everything wonderful, adorable, sweet and delicious, because it is. But it is also so very physically demanding. The constant feedings, the baby wearing, the baby carrying, the rocking, soothing, bouncing, the sleepless nights, one after another and the many, many personal sacrifices particularly in the social department. But it feels that at a year that I can celebrate getting pieces of me back. Enough about me. So happy birthday dear sweet baby, I Love you. You have 6 teeth, have taken your first steps, very joyfully I might add, and have charmed us all with your smile, laugh and exceptionally lovely personality. The boys and I have been busy preparing for your birthday for a couple of days. We hung our celebration banner, baked chocolate cupcakes and searched for and made pressies fit for the cutest most loveliest 1 year old boy! And finally on fiber Arts, I Knit a sock monkey for him. My second project knitting in the round. First was thrum mitts. Its great you just keep going, no need to knit a row, purl a row. You just knit! Fantastic. I love the little monkey, actually its pretty big. I hope he has it forever. I even made a vest that matches the monkey. So cute! One of the best parts of the day was awaking to my eldest dressing in his "nicest" clothes, doing up the buttons on his collar shirt, he was the first one up today, getting ready for his brothers birthday. So sweet and sensitive he is. What a gift.
