When Women Gather

I have always enjoyed being a women, but there are certain times when I feel entirely blessed to be a women. It is true that men and women are different, we always have been and always will be. Its evident even from the time of very early childhood. Boys and girls are different. Testosterone and estrogen are different.

I used to have these fantasies that my husband and I would go out for coffee together and talk, talk, talk only to go home and snuggle and talk, talk, talk. I would imagine us wandering antique markets and laughing, oohing and awing over textiles and home decore. That sort of thing. My mother would warn me of these fantasies, she would say "never make your man your whole pie, just a sliver". And I would think, "well, Ill show her!" Mom, you were right! I have realized that a relationship between a man and a woman is just as wonderful, yet different than a relationship between women. With that said, I feel like the luckiest woman in the world because of the relationships I have with my women friends and mother. Since being married and having children the one thing that has supported me, inspired me and pulled me out of the darkest of caves are my women.
UNlike men it seems we gather for great purpose, as we have since the begining of time. We Gather to celebrate. To celebrate eachother, the moon, our cycles, our births, our good news. We gather to Cry. We grieve our losses, express our heartaches, our fears our anger. We gather to dream. To re invent our selves, our homes, our purpose. We support each other all the way. We bake, and cook and pick up the pieces. We even nurse our friends baby if she needed us to. We know what to do, we can FEEL it. We are intuitive. We dance and sing and we honor eachothers power. One thing is for sure, that when women gather we gain more power and inspiration on using that power.

When women gather we HEAL. We heal ourselves, eachother and the world.
