Art for Barter- Saturday Feb 12th, 2-4pm

This Saturday from 2-4 pm at the invisible City in Newmarket, Piper and I are hosting an "Art for Barter" afternoon. It's a really good opportunity to come out for a couple of hours to try something new, again or just to do something you really love; whether thats painting, sketching, knitting, writing, music or sewing. Because it's bartering there is no fee, simply an exchange of energy of some kind! how cool and curious is that!

I had an experience tonight with something similar. A very good friend of my husband has a mother who is a potter. In fact, she along with some others started up the guild many years ago. After along hiatus her son cleared out her studio space of "things" that collect over a lifetime, and now she is back up and running. For Christmas my husband bought me some clay and arranged it with her for me to come out and play! Tonight was my first night and it was a lot of fun. I made a creamer! In exchange I made her some delicious organic chocolate brownies and a nice box of my favorite chai tea. She was pleasantly surprised. Wouldn't life be some much more interesting if the barter system was more active and common? hmmm....
