Clearing Clutter has been a topic of discussion lately amongst family and friends. It seems the energy of spring is the urge to purge, to clean, to freshen and to re purpose and everybody is doing it!!
I read this great article that my Mom sent me on clearing clutter. It talked about how the task can be overwhelming, daunting and scary, so we put it off, but instead of "doing it all" to approach it in 15 minute sessions. That seems more manageable! Today, I did just that. After putting yet another paper home from school away in one of my kitchen drawers, only to admit, that I could hardly close the drawer, I decided that I didn't have to do the entire kitchen, but just that one drawer. I did, it was easy and I even feel a little motivated to do another drawer or closet tomorrow! Its funny how we slowly accumulate things and then suddenly you can't stand it any longer and this massive need to "get rid of" takes over. I do believe that our belongings carry energy and have a direct affect on our own energy. Experts on the matter say that what you have should be functional, beautiful and have personal value/meaning. If you keep that in mind it becomes clear what must go! Don't keep things that have a negative association.
Do be responsible on how you get rid of things. Yes, getting a truck, filling it and taking it to the dump is easy, but not very kind to the environment.

Our homes and spaces reflect our inner space, our state of mind. Clearing out the clutter means the same for our emotions, thoughts, patterns and habits. When we get rid of what is no longer serving us, we make room for something fresh, new and joyful! We can attract more of what we want in our lives just by seeing it in our space.
My art room is next on my list, bit by bit that is.
Happy spring clearing!
