How GREEN is your CLEAN?

With Spring Cleaning well underway, I decided to stock up on some Earth Friendly Cleaning Products.
I don't like using harsh, chemical rich cleaning products at home, not just for the sake of the kids, but mostly! I went thru a period where I used to make my own products, you know, vinegar, baking soda, essential oils and what my grandmother referred to as elbow grease. But now there are so many affordable and readily available, non toxic cleaners that make cleaning fun, well at least more enjoyable! Good music in the background helps too!

Think about your day. What products (shampoo, face wash, toothpaste) do you start out with? what kind of food do you ingest? What fabrics do you put on to wear? what have they been washed with? Go thru your day just to bring awareness of what you come in contact with. Do this right  thru to the end of the day when you're laying in bed. What type of pillow, bedding, mattress, etc.
Think about what you can change and celebrate all the healthy, conscious things you do already!

Re use empty spray bottles. Fill one with Vinegar, water and orange oil to clean your counters. Or make one with pure water, tea tree oil and lavender oil to freshen your bedding. Windows and mirrors clean well with vinegar and water. Vinegar and baking soda work great in the sinks and tubs. Plus, you can put your kids to work with that one, they love the fizzy reaction between the soda and vinegar.

The point is, with cleaning we are supposed to be removing, not adding toxic residues. So make or purchase earth and family friendly products and have fun with your spring cleaning! You shouldn't have to hold your breathe when you clean. Feel good in your home!
