Fiddleheads

Fiddleheads are named after their fiddle like shape

Isn't it great how we can look to nature as an indication or mirror for what is happening within our selves?
I went to the forest with the boys to pick a few fiddleheads for dinner, and I sat amongst this vibe of "becoming". I realized that I too am emerging, transforming, stretching and becoming. We all are, wouldn't you agree?

Not only are these little fiddleheads a marvel to look at they are a culinary delicacy and a powerhouse of nutrition.A true superfood. They come but once a year with a short season of about 3 weeks before they become a fern.

Fiddle heads (I hear) are not to be eaten raw, but are fantastic steamed or boiled fOR 5-8 MINS, served with a bit of butter and salt, or olive oil and parmesan.  I enjoyed last nights leftovers, cold in my salad today. Delicious!
