Women, Herbs and Hormonal balance

I spent the majority of my summer at our cottage surrounded by nature, and the lake where sunset watching and star gazing were a daily ritual.

Directly Across the road from the cottage lives a vast field of weeds and  wildflowers, that usually end up on my table in a pretty arrangement!

This summer because the field is so abundant with red clover, I decided that I'd pick a bunch and make a tincture. It was easy, and so enjoyable to make. I knew that among many things red clover was good at balancing hormones. Let's face it, with chemicals in our food, environment and beauty products, stress, and the  linear minded demands of every day life its easy to become unbalanced.

When the tincture was finally ready I started taking  a small amount in water 3 times a day, and cleaning up my diet (as a nutritionist this is usually the first place I start).
Within the first week it occurred to me that I wasn't making "girl time" with my friends or community a priority in my life and the desire to do so was immense and undeniable.

I thought about a time in my life when my cycle was aligned with more than one woman. I was always aligned with my best friend and then depending on how social I was, at least two more important women.
My curiosity for this phenomenon has piqued!
I'm wondering if this "cycling together" is not just interesting but necessary for health.

In this initial balancing that I'm personally experiencing, is this desire to be around women more coming from within as guidance or inner knowing that our female relationships are integral to hormonal harmony?

As with bees and pollination; some flowers are dependant on that bee stopping at several specific flowers in order for that next flower to blossom and so on.
What if as Women we are dependent on several specific relationships in order for us to blossom and grow and change throughout the phases of womanhood?

Interesting, yes?
