Glorious Pears

Our adventures in spontaneous Pear Picking
Every year in Spring I watch the tiny pears form in anticipation for this moment. More specifically, for the   first bite of the first juicy sweet pear from our one back yard tree. The tree that we so love and adore     yields enough for fresh eating, gifting, some baking, juicing and some times canning, oh and of course    feeding the local raccoons and squirrels! Nothing pleases me more (sometimes) than to watch the kids enjoying "their pears"
While sitting outside this morning enjoying my coffee while the day was still relatively cool, we decided to finally pick what was left of the pears. Every other morning we would wake to half a dozen pears or so lying on the ground half eaten from the coons. Today was the day. And that really does mean it must be time for back to school, "cause the pears are always droppin' the same time every year".

Glorious Pears!

The pears are delicious. some were ready to eat, sun ripened to perfection. Juicy and sweet!

Pear recipes soon to follow, and a massive pruning job!
