Get up green! - smoothie recipe

Every day for the entire winter I have been making the same smoothie as part of the "family breakfast." Its easy to drink, tastes great, super nutritious and the kids love it too!

The following recipe is an approximation as I never measure ingredients for our drinks, but this morning I thought I would in order to share it with all of you! Play with the amounts until you get it right for you!

Serves a family of 5 (2 adults and 3 small children)

In order of what goes in the blender first:
2 organic banannas
1 impressively abundant handfull of raw organic spinach
1 small handful of Kale raw, or frozen (I keep a bag of chopped kale in the freezer for this)
3 TBS raw shelled hemp seeds
1 tbs whole flax seeds ( use ground if your blender lacks good power)
1-3 TBS flax oil or hemp seed oil. ( I alternate)
1-2 tsp powdered spirulina
1 cube flash frozen wheatgrass (optional)
Up to 5 pitted dates
3 cups almond Milk
5 or more ice cubes just to prevent your drink from getting warm while blending

Blend on high until smooth and green!

If your making a smoothie just for yourself:
1 organic banana (frozen is nice(
1 hand full of raw spinach
1 quick grab of chopped kale
1 shallow TBS flax seed
1 tsp flax or hemp oil
1/2 tsp spirulina
1 cube frozen wheatgrass (optional)
1 cup (ish) almond milk
1-3 pitted dates
3 or more ice cubes

Enjoy~
