Nutritional yeast recipe and info!

If you are looking for extra plant based ways to boost protein and  B complex Vitamins then try Nutritional yeast!! I always feel like such a hippie when I use it.

Nutritional yeast is a deactivated yeast, meaning it's not alive, a complete protein, free of sugar, gluten and dairy.
Some brands are fortified with extra vit. B12.

The flavour is "nutty" or "cheesy" and often used in cheese substitutes.

Try it sprinkled on popcorn!

I don't often use soy but from time to time these tofu fingers hit the spot!

Tofu fingers:
I block extra firm tofu
Soy sauce (braggs)
Water
Optional for flavour: garlic or ginger

I cup nutritional yeast flakes
Olive oil spray

Cut tofu in strips
Marinate in a mix of soy, water and optional flavourings at least for a few hours. Drain. Coat the fingers in nutritional yeast and arrange on baking sheet. Spray lightly with olive oil.

Bake at 375 until golden 20-30 mins.

Try it served with steamed broccoli, roasted sweet potatoes and brown rice for a family friendly meal!
