Well, the acorns are dropping. Its simply that time of year again. Im not sure what it it is about acorns that make them so adorable, attractive and desirable. Maybe its the way their little hat sits upon their head, or their smoothness, or that they come from a mighty oak tree. But whatever the reason is, it's almost impossible not to pick some up and stash them in your pocket while your out enjoying the forest. Needless to say, I've had a little stash of them at the bottom of my purse and beside my coffee cup holder in the car. Oh, and some in the laundry too. I suppose they were waiting. While shopping at Anthro last week, I noticed their acorns in glass jars supporting burning candles. And I was equally delighted to see them there as when you suddenly discover them underfoot on the forest floor.
Of course I wanted to make the same acorn candle thing I saw at Anthro, so this morning I decided I would take the boys to our favorite forest and pick some more acorns. The little stashes I had, were not nearly enough! Since it was Monday, ugggg, and I have a million other things to do, I was sort of hoping that we could just run into our usual entrance and quickly find a bunch. And so there; ask and you shall recieve. Not 20 feet from the entrance, there was a tree stump covered with acorns! It was as though someone had just cleared the pathway and to get them out of the way, put them on the stump. We took some, not all, had a quick look around and a little play and were back in the car in under 30 mins! Beautiful! The power of manifestation, or asking and being open to receive is alive in us all, and so much fun when you see it!

And finally, after washing and drying them
the lovely acorn candle display I wanted to make, originally seen at anthro!
Speaking of Anthro, I happened to see this dress, and I had to have it. So I bought it and when I got home I realized I actually have an up coming occasion that I need a dress for. It's silk! |
