Just because you slip, doesn't mean you have to fall

Today is Halloween, a north American holiday celebrated by kids and the kids within us all. The quest for candy excites the children and leaves adults cringing at the knowing effect of SUGAR, yet we too secretly want to indulge in the blood sugar ride.

So you've been super conscious of your diet, mindful of balance, avoiding refined carbs, getting your greens and proteins, not snacking at night and tonight you feel faced with a major decision. To eat or not to eat the candy?

We need to banish the "Monday Syndrome" mentality.  For example, you indulge (guiltily or not) in a few treats tonight, figure you've blown all the progress you've made and might as well continue down the path of destruction, sabotage and failure until Monday morning when you'll return to wholeness. Sound familiar? Its an unreasonable state of mind that only holds us back. There is nothing wrong with having a treat and if you can leave it at that, you'll be able to carry on with your ideal way of eating the very next moment with out the mind games and sour feelings. I'm certainly not promoting sugar, but I am promoting humanity and dispelling the super charged emotions that hold us back from creating the life we want in a feeling way. Just because you slip, doesn't mean you have to fall!

Step 1- Loose the guilt
step 2- drop the Monday syndrome
step 3- treat your self (or not)
step 4- carry on with your mindful diet

It really is that easy! Don't over think it, don't get in your own way!

Still feeling conflicted?

Your a goddess in the kitchen so why not whip up some chocolate covered dates, or naturally sweetened treats, or buy a bar of fair trade organic chocolate. roast up your pumpkin seeds with cinnamon and a touch of maple syrup with a pinch of sea salt.
